According to 360 Youth, an umbrella organization for various
youth marketing groups, tweens
represent $51 billion worth of annual spending power on
their own from gifts and allowance, and also have
a great deal of say about the additional $170 billion
spent directly on them each year. -10 is the new

These are the people in my neighborhood: The other day
while watching my son play at a nearby park, an older
man shared some funny stories regarding former President
Lyndon B. Johnson
with me. After a bit of research I discovered the older
man is Bobby
Baker, who in addition to being LBJ's right-hand man,
ran a Washington DC nightclub, established casinos in
the Dominican Republic and had alleged ties with organized
crime figures. Cool. |

After
riding nearly 10,000 miles over the past two years
on my Surly
bicycle, I decided it was time for
a new bike. Thanks to the magic of credit
cards, I now own an Orbea
Mitis, handbuilt in the Pyrenees of northern
Spain. After a couple of long rides over the weekend,
it's safe to say I'm in love. Also, ramen
noodles really are quite tasty... |

Wisconsin man said he saw something he couldn't
explain. Around 1 am Thursday, Steven Krueger, as
part of his job, was picking up a deer carcass on
the side of the road. After loading the deer onto
the truck, Krueger said he saw what he described
as a "large black animal, at least 7 feet tall
and larger than a bear." The
beast took the deer. Sheriff's deputies responded
to the scene but haven't located the missing deer
or mysterious creature. -Wow. |
