All you could hear at the press site as clock ran down
to "5-4-3-2-1" were other photographers yelling
"Oh
God they're going to launch!" The next thing
you heard were people shouting "Go Baby Go!"
and the sound of the roaring engines along with hundreds
of motor drives and clicking shutters. -How photographers

The key is to relax your jaw. Say "Mainer."
Notice
the tension in your jaw and how it opens only slightly.
Now say "Mainah," letting your lower jaw drop
on the "ah" paht (er, I mean "part").
Practice saying it in an exaggerated manner to get the
feel. -How to speak like a Mainer.

Spent a very enjoyable week in New England and followed
it up with a 104 mile bicycle ride yesterday. Legs and
mind a bit sore today but should return to normal tomorrow.

Cool
flashlights.
Everyone
probably has a personal definition of "Super-Hair."
Here's what we're using at this site: Any woman can have
perfect-looking hair as she walks out of a salon. But
it takes effort to keep a style looking good day after
day, week after week. And it takes extra skill to keep
hair under control through wind and humidity. -The
Super-Hair site.

A
persistent image I have of Jerry which seems strangely
resonant with his coming and going: a brilliant
sunny day on a boat bobbing above the abyss of
Molokini where the floor of the ocean suddenly
drops off a cliff and plunges to unknown depths,
I watch him check his gear then sit on the edge
of the boat and tumble over backwards into the
water, which is clear to a depth of several hundred
feet. I watch him dwindle in size as he descends
further and further, spread eagle and motionless,
until he is only a speck to the eye, then disappears
altogether from view and there is no more Jerry,
only ocean.
